Course Outline
Pre-Requisites
Assigned prework for this course should be completed one week in advance and brought to class.
Lessons
Complexity, globalization, matrix organizations, cross-functional projects, partnerships, and virtual teams all mean you need to get things done through a greater number of people, both inside and outside the organization. The challenge in all of these situations is achieving your goals when they require the support, buy-in, and agreement of others you likely have no authority over.
The solution is the power of influence. Influence is the ability to have a positive impact on the decisions, actions, and opinions of others. It is about persuading and motivating people to take action willingly. Even if you have authority or positional power, you will be more successful if you learn how to use the power of influence as you interact with others in the workplace.
In this course, you will explore the four essential competencies of successful influencers. You will get tips and learn techniques to help you master the competencies, and you will get opportunities to practice and apply the competencies to case studies and your own situations.

I would never take another course that starts at 11AM and goes to 9PM again. The way the course was laid out really took away from the capturing of what was presented as it was 5-6 hours of watching a screen before getting to the actual labs. There has to be a better way to lay out this particular course. In my previous course, the lectures were broken up by labs which worked out fantastic and kept you engaged in the course. There were days when in order to actually complete the labs, would go over the 9PM day end time frame. Was able to get the primary labs done, but if you want to get all the content completed, you cannot complete it in the window of this course, you will need to come back on your own time.
